Winches

The winches are driven by either petrol or diesel engines. All popular manufactured engines are offered to suit your preference and requirements. Hand crank or electric start is offered. The line pull is between 1500 & 3000kgs and is capable of a travel speed of up to 38 meters per minute. The main cable drum has a capacity of 300m x 13m. Supplied with 120m x 13mm galvanised steel rope as standard.

Operation

The Drain and Culvert Winches provide a positive mechanical method of cleaning sewers from manhole to manhole. (Two men with one set of machines ) are all that is required to perform an effective cleaning operation. A machine, cable rollers and manhole jacks are positioned at each manhole. Once the manhole set up is in place, the cable is floated down the pipe. The appropriate cleaning tool is fitted to the cable e.g. jawed bucket. The winch at the lower manhole draws the bucket in with a load. In the case of using one standard upright and one truck loader, the bucket moves over the top roller of the truck loader and dumps the deposit onto the truck. The truck loader relieves the operator from shovelling the deposit from street to truck.
